Step 1: Houseplants: It starts indoors

Most of our day is spent at work or at home, which means humans spend, on average, anywhere from 15-24 hours a day indoors. That’s crazy right!? That’s why the first process in creating a staycation is the addition of houseplants. A plant can change the look of a room by bringing a piece of nature indoors to create a warmer environment for friends and family to enjoy. Houseplants are not only aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but they are great for purifying and cleaning the air. Here are three great houseplants that emit high contents of oxygen to help purify your home: Boston Fern • Spider Plant • Birds Nest Fern

Step 2: Container Gardens and Ground Beds: Beautify your outdoor space

There is something to be said about getting your hands dirty in the earth and feeling the soil under your fingernails. Gardening is a way of connecting with nature right in your backyard that helps blow off steam, increases your self-esteem, and your overall mental health. As you can see, beautifying your outdoor space with annual container gardens and perennial ground beds is not only great for your home but it’s great for you!

Experimenting with annual container gardens can be fun and rewarding and finding what works for each area is our expertise. We have helped a countless number of customers find the right plant that fits their specific needs. We also create custom designs and plant everything up for you to make it extra easy for busy customers. Our knowledge doesn’t stop there. With our perennial, tree, and shrub expert on staff we can help extend customers’ gardens out into the yard creating gardens for years to come.

Step 3: Landscape: Create an outdoor Living Space

Landscaping is a huge part of creating an outdoor living space. A new patio, bonfire pit, retaining wall, or water feature can completely transform your outdoor experience and the way you utilize your yard. After a long week at work there is nothing better than relaxing surrounded by friends and family out in nature on your new patio with a bonfire crackling in front of you. Not only does landscaping create a sense of enjoyment for the family, but it also adds value to your home.

So, there you have it, 3 steps in creating you very own staycation at home this summer. The important thing when gardening is to have fun. If intimidation is a factor just start small and work your way up. There are so many different gardening and DIY techniques you really can’t go wrong. Always keep in mind there are no failures when it comes to gardening; only growth.
