Lorie Line
December 1
Belle Mehus Auditorium

Watching a pianist like Lorie Line in action always makes me wish I had spent my childhood learning an instrument instead of frying toy soldiers with a magnifying glass. The Minnesota Music Hall of Famer has now toured for three decades, performed on over 2,000 stages, and recorded over 50 CDs. She will delight at the Belle Mehus Auditorium for two shows on the 1st, but you had better nail down your ticket sooner than later if you would like to see Lorie — she only plays to sold out shows!

The Reason
December 5
Bismarck Event Center

The Reason is a holiday concert series that focuses on the spiritual underpinnings which define Christmas to Christians. A Reason show blends healthy spectacle with a heartfelt Gospel message that would have anyone feeling holiday-minded. This year the show will feature North Ireland folk worship band Rend Collective and pop-inspired anthem singer Hollyn, and will be presented by Ebony Small in place of regular host Nick Hall. (Nick apparently feels spending time with his newborn baby is more important than hosting a concert in Bismarck.)

Pride of Dakota
December 6, 7, & 8
Bismarck Event Center

This is the big one — Pride of Dakota takes up four of the Bismarck Event Center’s exhibit halls, offering over 100 thousand square feet of locally made treasures. Any of over 500 North Dakotan enterprises can join the mercantile bonanza, including artists, wineries, distilleries, farmers, bakers, sauciers, confectioners, soapers, canners, nutterers, snackerers, potato dumplingers, and coffee roasters. If you’ve got a fierce loyalty to North Dakota and want to support the state’s small businesses, this is the place to do this year’s Christmas shopping. At least go for the free samples!

Kenny G’s The Miracles Holiday and Hits Tour
December 14
Bismarck Event Center

Ever since the release of his smash hit album Duotones in 1986, Kenny G’s has been the name that comes to mind when you think of the saxophone. (Sorry, Charlie Parker.) Imagine if you told the guy when he was just starting out in Barry White’s backup band in the 70s that Kanye West would one day hire him to serenade Kim Kardashian on Valentine’s Day morning! (He’d probably want to know who those people are.) The Miracles Holiday and Hits Tour will combine elements of R&B, pop, and Latin to give you a smooth as syrup listening experience this Christmas season. Kenny G is a sax machine!

A Magical Medora Christmas
December 22
Belle Mehus Auditorium

The Medora Musical’s nostalgic, rustic style of entertainment has been such a hit that the town’s creatives are taking their show on the road this Christmas season. “A Magical Medora Christmas has the kind of music you would hear echoing against freshly fallen snow as you’re walking home late on Christmas Eve,” said Daniel Gannarelli, marketing specialist for the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation. “Our shows are not just about the Old West, but are an homage to the deep-seated sense of community that Medora has fostered for so long.”
