The name Avalon goes way back to the year of 1126 AD, being an island where King Arthur selected to heal his battle wounds. The name Avalon comes from the word “apple, or fruit”, and is where King Arthur’s famous sword, “Excalibur” was foraged. We celebrate that culinary legend with many of our famous culinary entrees such as our tantalizing Herb-roasted Pork and Apple Chutney.
The present era Avalon has not been around quite that long, but we are celebrating our 20th anniversary as Fargo/Moorhead’s largest, and busiest business and recreational facility in the Midwest.
Our 55,000 square feet of meeting space encompasses seven luxurious spaces, all offering a complete line of historically themed areas with state-of-the-art audio/visual benefits, with concert hall amenities.
Two dreamers, Lee and Tom, both of whom are Fargo natives, shared a dream, at the time when the Fargo downtown experienced a mass exodus. They dug in and transformed the 1908 Stone Piano Company (formerly the Daveau Music Company) into a world-class entertainment and business center, that is listed on the National Historic Register.
Last year, the building was sold to the Kilbourne Group and the business was enlarged, modernized, and moved to southwest Fargo. It is not unusual to see up to eight shining brides and grooms every weekend enjoy their most special day, bathed in candle light, celebrating their wedding vows and starting their lives together.
With the remodeling, state of the art built-in technology, extensive parking lot, and additional rooms we have also been able to expand our corporate celebrations. From conventions, to small meeting we have spaces for 50-1500.
We thank everyone for our success and look forward to the next 20+ years of celebrating important moments with you, our valued guests. Please call me personally at 701-478-9600 so that we can share events that are important to you.
Sincerely,
Kathy Colliton | Director of Operations
