The weather is warming up and you’re probably looking forward to ditching your winter layers soon. This spring, consider a few of these suggestions to welcome the new season and updating your look while at the same time keeping your savings intact.
The first thing you’ll want to do is pack away your down coat for something a little lighter and sleeker. Try a trendy and water resistant knee-length trench coat in navy blue or a neutral color like tan. If you’re feeling a little bit bold, try a pastel lilac or sky blue trench coat. In addition to keeping you dry on rainy days, trenches also help dress up any pair of jeans, t-shirt and ballerina flats combo while you’re out running errands. If you’re not ready to switch to flats just yet, pair your jeans with faux-suede ankle boots in tan or caramel for a timeless look.
Scarves are another great and simple way to update your look without spending too much money. Opt for lighter woven fabrics with fun prints that you can mix and match with a variety of other neutral tones. These optimistic colors are sure to put you in a good mood.
While out shopping for new wardrobe items, consider investing in a few well-made key pieces such as from silk rather than synthetics like polyester. In addition to the added luxurious feel, these natural fibers work better for regulating body-temperature, preventing bacterial growth, and keeping you more comfortable throughout the work day. Silk is also a great material for comfy pajamas!
To go along with your new items, you might also want to welcome some lighter nail polish colors as well. Crème colored nails are light and bright, and great for the workplace as well as for going out. Green is the go-to color for 2017, so don’t be afraid to incorporate it into your spring look, so you can try opting for a cheery hue like turquoise or mint green for your toes.
Don’t forget a few new bold pieces to keep you motivated to stay active. To indulge your athletic side a little, go for a few pops of color like neon pink or opt for a pair of bold running shoes. Along with your new updated look, be sure to welcome spring by getting some fresh air outdoors. Whether you are grabbing a friend to visit the local tennis courts, going for a jog, or simply taking that daily walk, be sure to take advantage of the slightly longer days and warmer weather!
